At KiraKira Institute, knowledge doesn't come from the top down.
It comes from the people inside the ecosystem doing real work — fellows, associates, and community partners who are closest to the challenges they're researching and designing for.
Every fellow and associate who joins KiraKira Institute is a potential contributor to a living body of knowledge. The community and the research are the same thing.
Our publications draw from participatory action research, systems thinking, storytelling, and creative design. They are peer-reviewed where applicable, community-informed always, and designed to be used — not just cited.
Research rooted in lived experience is not less rigorous. It is more complete.
